What does Marea de María sell?

Original paintings, prints and stickers, downloadable digital art, handmade jewelry, clothing and calendars. We also host live art events.

Are the paintings really original?

Yes. Every original painting is a unique handmade work by María León Abarca, signed and with a certificate of authenticity. Prints are clearly labeled as reproductions.

Can I request a commission?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp or by email with your idea, size and target date and we will send you a quote.

How do I care for an original painting?

Avoid direct sunlight and humidity. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Never use cleaning products on the surface.

Orders & payments

How do I place an order?

Add pieces to your cart, enter your shipping details and choose a payment method. You will receive an email with your order summary and status.

Which payment methods do you accept?

PayPal (international cards), SINPE Móvil and bank transfer. For SINPE and transfers, upload your receipt from your order page.

Which currency do you use?

Prices are in Costa Rican colones (₡). We show an approximate USD price; PayPal charges in USD at the daily exchange rate.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, as long as it has not shipped. Contact us as soon as possible with your order number.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

Everywhere in Costa Rica with Correos de Costa Rica, and to Mexico and other countries using international rates.

How long does delivery take?

Costa Rica: 1–3 business days after dispatch. Mexico and international: 10–20 business days.

Is shipping free?

National shipping is free above the amount shown in the cart. Digital products never pay shipping.

How are paintings packed?

With archival materials, corner protectors and impact protection. Jewelry travels in individual cases.

How do I get my download?

Once payment is confirmed, links appear on your order page and in your account. Links have a limited number of downloads and an expiry date.

Account & privacy

Do I need an account?

No. You can check out as a guest and look up your order with your email. An account keeps your history and downloads in one place.

How do you protect my data?

We use encrypted connections and never store card details. See our privacy policy.
